In our Keswick Community Cricket, everyone is here to enjoy and participate in the game. According to our cricket club rules, all players should be given equal opportunities, whether they are the best player or an average one. Batting: A batter retires after facing a fixed number of balls (the exact ball cap is unspecified and depends on the number of overs, time, and attendance). They return to the queue and can be recalled by the captain later, with captains deciding the order of recall. Tracking can be done via apps like CricHeroes or manually by umpires. Players who didn't get a chance in the previous match should be prioritized in the next match. Openers: Each game should feature new batsmen who did not get to bat in the first match or the next 5 batsmen, whichever applies. Bowling: Every player must bowl at least one over. Players unable to bowl (due to injury, by choice, or captain's decision) receive +3 extra batting deliveries. The non-bowler’s over must be covered by a replacement bowler of similar pace, mutually agreed upon by the captains. Additionally, the summer games fee should be taken into account to ensure that all players can participate.

As per the cricket club rules, no-shows or last minute cancellations without notice are not appreciated. At Keswick Community Cricket, surprise attendees are only permitted if attendance is low, and this is at the captains' discretion. Additionally, please remember to settle your summer games fee promptly.

Wides in cricket are measured using a full bat’s length from mid-wicket, and any on-the-line delivery is considered wide. According to the cricket club rules, a maximum of 3 wides can be bowled in a row before the bowler must be retired for that over. Additionally, fielders should remain still after making a catch at the boundary until umpires confirm whether it’s a fair catch. Throw bowlers should be limited to a maximum of one over and are required to bowl slowly. In the Keswick Community Cricket league, 'No Balls' will be logged as wides in the Cricheroes app unless runs are scored. Furthermore, the last player must run twos instead of singles. If a bowler delivers: - 3 consecutive wides, - 2 no-balls in the same over, - or throw bowlers are used, they will not be allowed to continue and will be compensated in batting. The over will be disqualified and must be completed by another bowler with the consent of the opposing captain. These guidelines are essential for maintaining the integrity of the summer games fee structure.

Only discussions and posts related to cricket club rules are permitted within the Keswick Community Cricket group. Community-related topics and promotions for other cricket leagues can only be shared after receiving admin approval. The admins or designated individuals will distribute the game poll. Please ensure that there is no foul language, and that respectful disagreements are maintained. If you have any questions or concerns, do not discuss them in the group; instead, send me a private message. Additionally, if a player is unable to attend the match, they should inform the admin privately. Remember to keep track of the summer games fee as well.

Matches and activities at our Keswick Community Cricket may be recorded for use on our social media platforms. If you do not wish to be recorded, you must inform the organisers in advance, in accordance with the cricket club rules. By participating without prior notice, you are deemed to have given consent, which includes acceptance of the summer games fee.
